First of all, I have to hand it to these two. They arrived to their engagement session in the middle of a torrential downpour, complete with wind, lightning, and even hail! We camped out in a hotel lobby and waited out the storm — which I think you’ll agree was totally worth it once you see their session.

Austin and Bayleigh met through mutual friends at Avanti. Austin acted like he was interested in doing business with Bayleigh, who works for the Tom James Company, so they exchanged numbers. But it wasn’t until a month later, when Bayleigh was in Austin’s firm seeing a client, that Austin used that number to message Bayleigh and invite her to go wake boarding with some friends.

Austin tells me that was their first date. Bayleigh, though, thought that was just a getting-to-know-each-other outing, and she said their real first date was the time Austin took her to St. Mary’s Glacier and taught her how to fly fish. “It was at the end of that day when I knew I had met my person.”

Both Bayleigh and Austin realized after their first date — whichever one it was — that they wanted to marry each other.

When you see these two together, you can see why! Whether it’s fly fishing, wake boarding, snowboarding, long boarding, hiking, or working out, they simply love being together, and they love being outside.

They also both share a passionate faith in Jesus Christ and have worked really hard to “build a Christ-centered relationship that encourages and challenges each other” to be all that God has called them to be.

Austin proposed when they were in Jamaica for a business trip, and Austin did such a good job of making it seem like he wasn’t going to do anything special that she truly didn’t expect it!

On the third day of their trip, they spent the day on the beach in Negril. That night at dinner, at a restaurant on a cliff overlooking the ocean, Austin proposed. Bayleigh was so surprised and excited that she didn’t eat a single bite of her dinner!

I love how these two responded when I asked them one thing they respect and admire about each other: “One thing I love about Austin is his passion. He is the most passionate and driven person I’ve ever met. Whether it’s business, fitness, or fishing, he has an enthusiasm that is unmatched.”

“I love the excitement that Bayleigh brings to our relationship. She always greets me with a huge smile and big hug every time I see her. It makes me fall in love with her more and more every time we get to spend time together. Life is going to be so much fun with her!”

Bayleigh and Austin have such a passion for life and for each other that is evident even in their sweet words about each other. I am so excited for their Spruce Mountain Ranch wedding this fall, and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for their marriage and their life together.
